A domestic violence survivor contacted legal aid when her husband began verbally abusing their 10-year-old son. He repeatedly threatened to throw the mother and son out of the mobile home along with their possessions. Many nights they were forced to sleep on the bedroom floor. A pro bono attorney helped the woman file for a divorce, and was able to obtain sole physical custody, child support, and possession of the mobile home. With the help of a pro bono attorney, the woman and her child now live in a home safe from abuse.
