Legal aid represented a family, a couple and their children, after their Medicaid was terminated. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) had incorrectly calculated the family’s projected income, including counting the mother’s income twice. DHHS had also failed to count the couple’s unborn child as part of their group. After an administrative hearing, the Judge retroactively reinstated their Medicaid, which allowed the family to resubmit any unpaid medical bills and to ensure ongoing medical coverage for the birth of their child.
