A client reached out to legal air for assistance in getting prior convictions set aside. Over twenty years ago, he was convicted of several drug related felonies, all committed within the same set of circumstances. He had subsequently completed college, gotten married and had children. However, his convictions prevented him from attending his children’s school activities. His case was assigned to a pro bono attorney and the original application was denied. After extensive research and briefs filed demonstrating that he qualified for an exception because they all occurred within one 24 hour period, the judge ruled in the client’s favor and his convictions were expunged. His life was immensely enriched by the expungements, as he had better job opportunities, better housing options, and was able to attend his children’s school events.
